Happy Easter Sunday

I have always loved Easter. As a kid, waking up to find a beautiful Easter basket filled with presents and colorful eggs was almost as exciting as Christmas morning.

My mom was crafty and artsy about it and we would enjoy making big messes while coloring all the Easter eggs. Then waiting while my dad hid the eggs in the yard, and finding more than my brother, was always fun.

I did the egg coloring and egg hunt with my own kids when they were smaller to, but now they are older, and lately we have been discussing the meaning of the holiday.

The beginning of Christianity was the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There were no egg hunts at the crucifixion, that was more of a pagan ritual to celebrate fertility and spring.

Isn't it nice how time has changed the holiday to add gifts, the Easter bunny, marshmallow peeps, and the very popular Easter brunch buffets that require reservations days, weeks, or months in advance?

It doesn't matter how you celebrate or why. As long as you are enjoying your life and living each day, including holidays, the way that makes you happy, then the journey is memorable.

We are all on this lovely crazy journey of our lives, I wish you many blessings and lots of fun.

Hope you get lots of crazy colored Easter eggs and maybe a chocolate bunny to. I always bite the ear off first, for some reason, I think it hurts the chocolate bunny a little less. Ha ha.

New Adventure

My first day paddling an outrigger canoe was definitely a spiritual experience. There is absolutely something magical about being a part of a six woman team and paddling in sync. Moving together and gliding a very heavy vessel across the water.

The speed was amazing! The water was incredibly breathtaking. We easily floated over a few dozen coral heads, and watching the sunset on my favorite beach with all my new friends, no words can even begin to describe how special that moment was.

I absolutely can not wait until next practice. Even more special, knowing my grandfather, who's ashes are scattered in those waters, was there with me somehow. I just knew he was smiling with me as I was out there on the water.

Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend!

Slaying the paper mountain!

I apologize first if I upset anyone on this touchy subject of taxes.
I actually don't mind filing my taxes, but the organizing of a years worth of accumulated papers and searching for all necessary documents is scarier than any horror movie.

I have mastered the art of procrastination, and when it comes to getting through this mass pile of papers, it is a week of dedicated commitment.

I have probably twenty books on organizing. I collect information from everywhere. My flipbook, and pinterest, and evernote accounts will probably one day overflow with albums all about organization, as soon as I organize all those photo files.

I freely admit, this has been one of my hardest subjects to master. I have begun the feng shui project of organizing almost every room in my house. The office and book shelves have been my stopping point. I'm getting there next, promise.

I knew I would have to finally face the paper pile mountain and soon I will have it tamed, and neatly filed and organized. Until then, my dining table may be unusable.

I have until April 15th right? As far as I'm concerned, I'm already way ahead of schedule.

Happy Aloha Friday!

My Why

My family, my children, my friends, my network, they are my legacy, my gift, My Why!

The reason I work so hard to be my best everyday. It is for all of them, and for me. My success is there success to, and vice versa.

Love is in everything I do. Sometimes challenges occur, but it makes for a more interesting story.

I love a good story and I hope my own is a real page turner. Ahhh that reminds me, this is for a couple of special friends in my life, always time for an adventure.

License To Drive

In one year, my son will be able to apply for a driver's permit. Decisions of buying another vehicle, my first concern is safety. Next, I want practical, then as sexy as a pair of Jimmy Choo's!

Big question, will I buy him a new car? Ummm No! He can drive whatever hand me down indestructable vehicle that we have, that can't accelerate beyond 60mph, and I will get a new car.

Alright, I admit, I am not a fan of driving to the gas station, waiting in lines, and pumping gas. I love the idea of electric cars. I can plug it in at home and charge it, as simple as charging my cell phone.

Sadly, all the electric cars and even hybrids, didn't appeal to my personal taste.

Cars are investments, and you are stuck with it for years. If I'm going to invest my money, I want it to be pretty, and practical, sexy, fun, but mostly pretty. I also prefer a manual transmission with serious acceleration.

As a woman, who loves shoes and handbags, my car is a big giant accessory and needs to be appropriate for all occasions.

I don't need a big family car. Smaller, fuel efficient, electric would be better for me, but why can't it be as cool as a vintage Corvette or Bugatti Veyron.

I still have a year til I will be sharing my car with my son, or finding a gem of an electric car that doesn't cost more than $50K. Seriously, I spend too much time at the beach, it will be full of sand probably, and parked in not so nice places. Still has to be great for meeting clients and arriving at all those great events where you hand your keys to the valet.

I love the Tesla, and Karma Fisker! Gorgeous! Please car makers, make lots of pretty, practical and still very sexy cars for us busy ladies that need awesome accessories, like our cars. Ha ha.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Family

I love my family! I love that we are so close and able spend so much time together.

My older son, growing up so fast, I'm enjoying our morning bike rides and know how much I'm going to miss his company as his own life gets busier.

My younger son, is a fascinating individual who really makes me laugh so much during the day. He also pushes my buttons just as much, so I guess, for now, it evens out.

My parents are a blessing and have always been my biggest supporters. They are also a very interesting couple, perfectly yin and yang, very funny to. No wonder their social calanders are always booked.

I'm exhausted, this was a long day. Weekends are usually spontaneous adventures in our family and I never know what will happen.

I wish you many fun and happy adventures with your loved ones.

Stories

With each life lesson you grow and become the person you are meant to be. This life is short, and I try to share every challenge this life has thrown at me, with my children, well actually anyone really.

Stories of your life can help others so they don't have to repeat the same lesson. I wouldn't wish my struggles on anyone, and if I can share what I've learned from those lessons to get to where I am today with others, especially my children and nephews, I will save them from those struggles and hopefully they will avoid them entirely or remember the solution to get themselves out of it quickly.

I wish everyone a life of success. Share your stories, so the next generations don't have to repeat every mistake. Arm them and each other with a library of Solutions!

Life is beautiful if you allow yourself to enjoy every moment. There is always a silver lining, sometimes it just takes time to realize it.

It was never about the destination, it's always been about the journey.

Make it memorable! Enjoy every step. It's not a race. In the end, we all will leave these fleeting lives and hope we left a legacy for future generations to flourish from our life's work.

Mini Me's

I often ask myself, what in the world compelled me to want to have children? Then I hang out with them and realize, I actually like them...only when they are not fighting, making messes, and waking me up when I'm trying to sleep. Seriously, eyes closed mean I'm sleeping, or I was! Ugh kids!!!

While out shopping the other day, I was again reminded by a large family- 4 kids, and mommy was glowing with another baby on the way, that I thought, would I want to really have another? Hmmmm.

I often have dreamt of a little baby girl. She is so beautiful and well behaved in my dream. The reality is the toll it will take on my body and hormones and adjusting once again to a rigid baby schedule which really does not allow for sleep, for at least a few years. Again, hmmmm. I honestly don't know.

I love my boys and can't imagine my life without them. My nephews are so young and I adore spending time with them to. Maybe just being an aunty for now is good enough.

My first goal is to get to my optimal health. I wouldn't want to even attempt another pregnancy without being the healthiest I could be. The first time I was pregnant, I was really young. Now that I'm older, I need to be in top shape before even considering it.

I have a few more years to think about it. Until then, I'm going to enjoy all the time I get with my little nephews and appreciating my older boys, especially now that they can pretty much take care of themselves, and me to. I love that.

That reminds me, I need to ask my older son to finish editing my projects and the younger one to make rice for tonight's dinner, right after they sweep and mop the downstairs. This is when I really think I should have had a couple more servants, I mean children. Ha ha.

Someday, they will take care of some lucky girls. Hopefully they will have lots of kids of their own, and I can just visit.

Love, hugs, and giggles!

No Pinching!

I got my green on. My Irish blood, is excited to celebrate in an old fashioned sort of Irish tradition.

I bought the corned beef brisket, and my mom is going to cook it, so I don't screw it up :) and it will be yummy with the potatoes and cabbage. Mustard on the side, please.

I think you are supposed to drink whisky or scotch on this day. I'm not a fan of either, and if my great great (I think that's right) grandmother, who may have owned a traditional Irish pub in New York (ancestry research is confusing...anyway) heard me say that, I'm sure I would be lectured, or something.

Traditions? Well, I intend to inspect all family members and friends and pinch anyone who isn't wearing their green. No, maybe, not sure.

I like the idea of Baily's Irish cream in my coffee or in a favorite mix drink, with amaretto, and more cream. Drizzled on good vanilla bean ice cream might be my first choice. Is that Irish enough?

A little drink (or dessert) to toast the holiday, with a traditional corn beef brisket and cabbage? My grandfather might say that's enough. Ahhhhh, I miss him now.

Cheers from however far back my Irish ancestry goes and a little pinch, seriously I have no idea why we do that...I bet google knows tho. I'm to lazy to ask right now, I must find some good vanilla bean ice cream first! Ha ha.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Nothing to do?

First day into Spring Break and guess what? There is nothing to do and everything is boring.

I have a fabulous list of things to do, unfortunately, my boys have decided my list sounds like work and not at all fun.

How can cleaning your room, putting away your laundry, helping mom dig up the yard and plant things, not be fun? Maybe its the way I said it.

For some reason when I mentioned mowing the grass, their dad disapeared from the room, and pretended he never heard me say that.

Ugh, selective hearing! Alright, I will see what they want to do, and it better be fun and not boring! I don't know if I can do nothing all day.

Happy weekend.

Spring Break Finally!

It's Aloha Friday and the last day of school! Our family is happily celebrating Spring Break! Well, technically, right after school today. A mere six and half hours or so.

My older son has been asking me what are we going to do? I think he keeps hoping I will answer something about travel or spending everyday at the water park.

Seriously, my only plan is to sleep in a little later, and let them make their own breakfast.

I would like to get them started on a fitness routine and maybe get more physical activities in their day. Most of all, I really want them to have fun.

As long as they don't get homework assignments, really that usually impacts my fun time and I don't really want homework.

Happy Friday!!! Happy Spring Break!!!

Transformation is always from the inside out

I am evolving and changing.
Its funny how it starts on the inside and manifests on the outside.

The more I observe and live presently in this life, it seems to be true for everything.

You can manifest any desire into your reality as soon as you decide its what you truly want. The only thing that will slow you down is doubt, fear, or distractions.

Life is about living in joy. It's a choice, and it's your choice.

Circumstances and your life are direct reflections of whatever it is you are feeling.

Please choose to live as presently as you can. Live in the energy of hope and joy. Your life has always been yours.

Make your own rules and remember how powerful you really are!

I believe in you! You are a bright light in this world! I'm honored to be on this journey with you.

Love always.

Spring Break Excitement

Morning chatter is all about the excitement of spring break. For our Hawaii public schools, its next week. I can almost taste freedom from the normal routine of school days.

Routine makes me tired and unmotivated. To break this cycle of dreariness, I retreat into anything creative.

At the moment, I'm dreaming of dry sunny weather to go play in my garden, or waiting for the chill to leave the air to escape to a warm beach.

My to do list, feels like a box of boredom and I don't even want to look at it. I have a few tricks to tackle it, like scheduling a day of my favorite things and sprinkling in a few of the boring necessary to do's. It will all get done eventually. I may need to stop making myself lists.

Sometimes, spontaniety is the best adventure in this life. Let yourself be surprised by what the day brings. Live in the moments of each hour, revel in your interactions with wonderful people.

A new day awaits!
Wishing you many blessings.

Quality

We all have heard you get what you pay for. We also know, quantity usually means less quality. It depends really.

We all like to get a great deal to, especially in a tight economy when every dollar counts.

I heard a great story about going to the top of the Empire State Building. Since, I've been there, I can totally relate.

You can pay, I think it was $45 to go to the observation deck on the 86th or $15 more to go to the 102nd floor.

My own experience, the observation deck is insanely crowded as everyone tries to squeeze into teeny tiny spaces to get a glimpse of the view. Actually we were all trying to take photos of ourselves with the view behind us.

It is crowded, but why pay more to see the same view from a few floors higher?

Actually the 102nd floor is beautiful. No crowds and I don't remember having to squeeze my camera between the grates to get a great photo. When I left the 102nd floor, a voice came over the intercom system saying I was now part of the Elite 102nd club.

That experience was a big life lesson, it really taught me that most people would rather pay as little as they can to get the best experience. But if I'm willing to pay a little more than everyone else, I will get to enjoy the life I really want and there was very little competition because so few were willing to pay the extra price.

Let's look at money as effort. It takes effort to earn money. How much more effort will you put in to earn the money you really want?

There are a lot of amazing opportunities out there if you are willing to put in the effort.

I am a self made entrepreneur. I have been working since I could get a work permit at 15 years old. When I was 16, I had three jobs, of course, they were all part time, but any extra time outside school and sports, I wanted to earn money. As I got older, I realized I wasn't making the kind of money I really wanted and started researching and trying many work at home businesses.

I learned the true power of leverage and found a great company that actually works for me. I have since created multiple businesses and income streams. It all works because I believe it does.

I wish you great success to achieving all your dreams. If I can do it, so can you!

My business now is helping others achieve their dreams. I promise its worth it, but you have to promise to put in the effort.

Monday, March 11, 2013

Time to dry out, it's another Monday.

Saturday was a beautiful and sunny memory and a rainy Sunday was wonderfully lazy.

Well, lazy for me, even with two loads of laundry, giving the dog a bath and a vaccuming-mopping-floor cleaning downstairs. Yes, it was a day of passing down those important life skills to my two boys.

Seriously, that was a short list, all mom's know that you could have easily added in bathroom cleaning upstairs, downstairs, two more loads of wash and bedrooms cleaned while multi-tasking an amazing dinner.

Dinner was great by the way, my mom, had my dad, BBQ steaks, asparagus, and peppers. Yum! I'm already thinking about leftovers for dinner.

My young padawans still have a lot to learn to survive their future suburban lives. I'm just grateful they hauled at least one bag of clean laundry upstairs. Will they hang it up and put it away? I doubt it. They keep trying to convince me, wrinkled and just rolled out of bed looks cool. At least they brushed their teeth.

Boys! I don't get them.

Happy Monday, I need to bail out my plants, and get my own day started.

Sending a smile for your day, I know it will be beautiful!

Sleeping like a baby

I love my nephews. Oh, they are at the perfect ages. Little baby Connor who just celebrated his first birthday, and adorable Ethan, my wise four year old.

I absolutly enjoy every moment. They make me laugh and smile. Children have such pure hearts, you can't help but fall in love with them.

In those perfect moments, I wish I had a little baby to. Then they cry, or have some little melt down, or have created such a big mess, and the moment I can give them back to their parents, I am so grateful that I have grown out of that stage.

Reality sets back in, and I realize, I'm a survivor of the baby, toddler, diapers, potty training, tantrums, sleepless nights mommy days! My youngest still in elementary school, my oldest in high school. I am so happy to be past that. It feels like graduation.

Although, older has gotten easier, it brings new challenges. Teenage boys seem to be a different species that I am rather unfamiliar with. I can recall my teenage girl years, but the problems my son faces seem so out there, I have to often consult with their dad to translate.

I'm going to bed, it's a school night. Ugh...I hate waking up early for school.

Love and hugs and giggles.

Parenting parents 0_0

A day of shopping with my parents was exhausting! They are worse than my kids. At least my children listen to me, my parents...ugh, they wander off in separate directions and I have no idea where they are.

Headache, stress, confusion, I feel sorry for my dad, as my mom wanders up and down aisles, and many times back tracks. I get stuck between them, not sure if I'm helping my mom, who has abandoned the idea of sticking to her shopping list, and trying to keep her focused.

She had plans for a second shopping stop, and as I wasn't familiar with the inventory at the other store, I made sure to grab my usual perishable items from the first store.

As we arrived at the second store, I was even more tired and felt embarrassingly out of shape. I'm not sure it was the walking, but the stress of watching my parents. I eventually realized, I was an adult now and could wander off on my own to, and as I found a few items, I could always find my dad waiting patiently for my mom at the end of some other aisle.

I'm not certain I can shop with them again. It was a lot of work. I actually thought it would be fun and relaxing. NOT!!! I need to do more prep work on a thorough shopping list and teaching my mom better shopping strategy. My poor dad, he has to be the most patient and understanding man on the planet.

They wandered off to a party this evening, I am so impressed with their energy. They have a beautiful chemistry and definitly have a loving relationship. I hope to be as happy and have as much energy as them when I'm their age.

I love my parents, they always support me in everything I want, now all I want is to be successful for them.

Sending love and smiles, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Blessings

I woke up to beautiful light rain shower and gorgeous sunrise. I came downstairs to find my parents had dropped off a delicious hot breakfast for me and my family. A few moments later, while sipping my lemon water and saying goodmorning to my plants, I was surprised with a beautiful double rainbow.

I received a nice message in my dreams about rewards coming. Even all the icky insects that came to visit me- ugh another in my bathroom last night 0.0- they had a message. Rewards are here and manifesting in my life. I am grateful. I am feeling overwhelmingly blessed and it makes me feel like I need to rest right now.

I will need to recharge my energy for something amazing is unfolding. I am grateful and send as much good energy out to you as I can.

It is time to manifest rewards and let the universe bless you with everything you deserve for living each day with gratitude in your heart and sharing it with others. Sending love and light to you always.

It is your time to shine!

I was having a lovely conversation with a friend the other day, and I will admit, at first I wasn't feeling to happy.

Life sometimes has crazy energy and situations but you need to just smile through it and move on.

In this conversation, I was smiling through it. I was being the good listener, and ignoring my own issues, as I know they will be resolved in their own time, and I just listened.

In a moment of almost divine synergy, theses words came forth.

"When you can see the divine in every moment and in others, your life transforms and you are that much closer to your own spiritual growth."

My whole energy shifted at that moment. I felt the power and appreciation of being fully present and aware in that moment.

I am not just living, but I am alive! I was present in my time with my friend and their concerns. Those powerful words shifted their energy in that moment also.

It was a message we both needed to hear at the right moment. I'm passing it on to you.

Live present in every moment with full awareness of your amazing journey and powerful interactions.

You are a bright light in this world, be the brightest light in your life! Allow synergy to manifest and create abundance in all areas of your life.

I believe in you!

Sending Love and Light always.

Unconditional love

I have had many dogs in my lifetime. They have been my best friends that I have shared any secret, any wish, any problem with and they are there to listen without judgement.

I have learned a lot from my dogs to be that kind of friend to those I care about. I don't judge, but I am a great listener. If you ask me, I would do my best to reflect any light on your life that you could see past any situation and look for a new solution.

Actually that is how my wonderful business partner, Cindy, and I created Hawaii Legacy Solutions. With our vast network of friends and business contacts, we have helped guide others to solutions, sharing either products, services, or network contacts to help our fellow Hawaii businesses succeed in a global marketplace or just here in our islands.

We built our friendships with love and trust and will continue to help others be bright lights in their own life, organization, or business.

Love is truly the most powerful energy force in the universe. Love for any person, country, or cause will move individuals to do great things.

We will always be here to listen, and never judge.

Success

Mondays are new beginnings. A new week, a new opportunity, a new moment to carve out more of what you want your life to be.

Live in this energy and be gentle with yourself and others. We are all on our own journeys and this precious life is sometimes full of precious lessons and loving rewards.

I wish you success with every step. You are stronger than you think and I'm honored to be on this journey with you.

Love and Gratitude Always,
Maile

Kakaroaches Ewwwww!

I hate roaches! I know, I know, I live in a tropical destination and roaches seem to like living on these beautuful islands to. I just wish they would stay outside!

I woke up my entire house and possibly my neighbors as I screamed in the middle of the night when I crossed paths with one of these notorious bumbucha B52 kakaroaches in my bathroom.

I couldn't kill it on my own and insisted my husband wake up from his deep sleep, (seriously, why he didn't come when I was screaming in the first place :( ugh!) and kill it.

It had crossed the line when it entered my house and no longer could I allow it to continue its existence, it may tell its friends how it got in, and then there would be more.

I'm irrational when it comes to most insects in my living space, when they are outside, far outside, in a park, let's say, I have no problem with them being where they are. Just not where I live, or else. Sorry.

I'm so grateful that this one didn't remember to fly in my tiny bathroom with me in it, then I'm sure my screams would have awoken the entire island!

Ewwwwwwww!!!!!

Happy lazy Sunday and bug free wishes ;)

Aloha,
Maile

Angel's Watching Over Us

A wonderful conversation with one of my beautiful friends yesterday, reminded me of a special moment of gratitude. Super human gratitude.
Kind of a neat story…Here goes…

One day I was driving down Kapiolani Boulevard and was catching every light, traffic was crawling and I was in a grumpy mood. I caught myself in this funkiness and wanted to change it.

As I was driving so slow, I was noticing my surroundings and all the people busily moving along the sidewalks. I could clearly see them and decided I would send them a a happy thought.

Example, I saw a woman with a beautiful dress or great handbag or cute shoes and I would mentally send that person a smile and a nice compliment. I did this for fifteen minutes until I reached my destination. Sending out complimenting thoughts and smiles to each person I noticed along my slow progression along Kapiolani Boulevard.

At my destination, it was First Hawaiian Bank, and I will never forget this, as I was leaving a woman grabbed my arms to stop me and she faced me with the biggest smile. She said, "You are absolutely gorgeous!" I was so stunned, I welled up with such gratitude and choked out a thank you and said she was also very beautiful. She smiled back and let me go, we both continued on our way.

That was such a profound moment of good energy coming back at me. If you ever wanted to test how life is an echo of your thoughts and feelings, you might just try this little experiment. And don't stop giving out those happy compliments. Just because the person you sent it to didn't hear you, the universe did.

I can't believe how clearly I can recall that day and always wondered if the woman was an angel. She had such an amazing glow and the power at which she held my attention and presence was almost super human.

Some days I feel like I'm on fire! Today is one of those days! I love life and am so grateful for all my wonderful amazing supportive family and friends. You mean the world to me and I wish you the best this life has to offer.

Love and Gratitude Always,
Maile
