Easter Fun

The Easter Egg hunters:
At age one, wants to taste everything.
At age two, somewhat interested in the egg collecting game.
At age three, prefer to chase the bugs and lizards in the grass instead of picking up eggs.
At age four, egg hunting master.
At age six through eleven, competitive egg hunting master, watch out all other kids!
At age twelve, bored and too old.
At age 16, re-invent the egg hunting game and increase difficulty level and make it cool again. Maybe. Well I did.

Hope your Easter weekend was lovely!
Our best wishes, from our family to yours!
Love and Aloha,
Maile

Sweet Dreams <3

It's a school night, which means early bedtime. I have no idea what my kids are complaining about, I love sleep! They have no idea what they are missing. Even Ginger is ready for bed. Ummm not my bed...she is their dog.

May your Thursday be even happier than your dreams.

License To Drive

In one year, my son will be able to apply for a driver's permit. Decisions of buying another vehicle, my first concern is safety. Next, I want practical, then as sexy as a pair of Jimmy Choo's!

Big question, will I buy him a new car? Ummm No! He can drive whatever hand me down indestructable vehicle that we have, that can't accelerate beyond 60mph, and I will get a new car.

Alright, I admit, I am not a fan of driving to the gas station, waiting in lines, and pumping gas. I love the idea of electric cars. I can plug it in at home and charge it, as simple as charging my cell phone.

Sadly, all the electric cars and even hybrids, didn't appeal to my personal taste.

Cars are investments, and you are stuck with it for years. If I'm going to invest my money, I want it to be pretty, and practical, sexy, fun, but mostly pretty. I also prefer a manual transmission with serious acceleration.

As a woman, who loves shoes and handbags, my car is a big giant accessory and needs to be appropriate for all occasions.

I don't need a big family car. Smaller, fuel efficient, electric would be better for me, but why can't it be as cool as a vintage Corvette or Bugatti Veyron.

I still have a year til I will be sharing my car with my son, or finding a gem of an electric car that doesn't cost more than $50K. Seriously, I spend too much time at the beach, it will be full of sand probably, and parked in not so nice places. Still has to be great for meeting clients and arriving at all those great events where you hand your keys to the valet.

I love the Tesla, and Karma Fisker! Gorgeous! Please car makers, make lots of pretty, practical and still very sexy cars for us busy ladies that need awesome accessories, like our cars. Ha ha.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Maile

Sidetracked!

I probably have ADHD in some form or another and I admit to getting easily sidetracked and even more guilty of starting multiple projects simultaneously and maybe half finishing a few.

I eventually complete most projects but I usually stop only when it seems I was just going in the wrong direction.

I need to re-plan, edit, re-assess the entire situation and go back to it when I have a better solution or idea.
This happens a lot and I know it drives my family crazy. I honestly don't know how else to be.

When I do complete a project to my perfectionist satisfaction, I always get praise and a lot of appreciation.

It's the artist blood that runs through my veins and has so much energy and way too many ideas for me to be able to see the roadmap to the finish line easily.

I seem to create unnecessary challenges for myself, that I can't explain...but as I see things falling into place better, I really don't care how I got there, just that I'm here now and I like it!

Okay, those are my artsy rambling thoughts reflecting on my life today. Maybe you are like me, and your family and friends complain about your multi-tasking lifestyle, but who cares what they think, if it works for you, then that is truly all that matters.

So I easily get distracted and I fall in love with almost everything and everyone! I love love and love life and love my family and my messy crazy projects that are half complete, but as they all get organized, I'm already thinking up future projects and I'm desperately trying to focus on my current projectssss before I start a few more ;)

he he he...I am giggling with joy on the inside and if you could see the naughty grin curling at my lips and the twinkle of mischief in my eyes, a look that definitely worries my family, but I know they will love it all.

Life is the adventure! Let's make the days fun and avoid the ordinary ;)

Giggles, smiles, and the best dreams!
Sending lots of love and hugs always,
Maile

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

I woke up to rain and all I could think was, this is a perfect welcome to the Water Snake year!

Hawaiian showers are always blessings! The Dragon year definitely caused so much transformation in so many areas of my life. The shift in that energy sent me into so many new directions.

This first day of the Water Snake feels so much calmer and I feel I am ready to just allow this energy to help move me easily and almost effortlessly into abundance in every area of my life!

Wishing everyone great success and a prosperous new year!

KUNG HEI FAT CHOY! Happy Lunar New Year! May Your Happiness Be Without Limit!

Love and Aloha,
Maile

Courage!

I'm not always brave! But I know that to achieve my goals and dreams, I need to do something scary! I had to step out of my comfort zone.

Hoping for the best. I'm trusting my gut instincts, which has sent me in some crazy directions, but always always paid off.

To be successful, sometimes we have to take risks. At least that is what it feels like when I try something new. But really, when I look back, it was never anything I couldn't handle, and I grew from the experience, and that made it worth it.

I wish you courage and bravery in your own life.

All my love,
Maile

Champions

Aloha friends,
It is turning out to be a lovely lazy Sunday! I'm looking forward to playing with my kids, laughing with my ohana and watching a little football.

I'm not a big NFL fan, but as my son plays football and we have been UH football season ticket holders for a while now, I definitely know this game well.

Both teams are already winners proving their skill all season got them to the Super Bowl. We can all take inspiration from these champions.

Just do your best Always! Everyday you will be better than the last. I will always cheer for you. Sending love always.

Aloha,
Maile

Best Friends Forever

I heard the most beautiful story from my Kumu Aunty Donna last night...

An old Hawaiian man who lived in her neighborhood, once told her father about the puakinikini growing in her yard, at the time it was only a tiny shrub. The man said to plant another puakinikini plant next to it, it needs a friend to talk to. So they did and it didn't take long for these tiny shrubs to grow into strong trees.

We all need friends to support us and encourage us in our lives. You can never have enough friends.

I'm am so grateful for all my amazing friends and family, I am always blessed to make new friends.

Love always,
Maile

Me ke aloha pumehana, maile

A day to recharge my spirit. Morning walk on the beach, quick swim in the beautiful ocean. All before breakfast.

I always take one day of the week just for me. If I don't, let's just say the crazy girl who feels under appreciated and maybe depressed sneaks out and I may lose all self control around chocolate ;) lol

Rest, recharge, restore your balance. Your health depends on your peace of mind, your body depends on your will power. So many things you need to do to be the best you, simply start with a moment of peace for yourself.

You have my permission. Please take it and run with it.

Love always,
Maile

Faith

"He ko'e ka pule a kahuna, he moe no a ʻoni mai." The prayer of a kahuna is like a worm; it may lie dormant but it will wriggle along.

Though the prayer of a kahuna may not take effect at once, it will in time.

Your dreams are manifesting now! Believe that you are on the right path and trust that everything you wished for is just around the corner!

Many blessings always!

Aloha,
Maile

You Can Change the World!

Let's all make the world a better place today! We can all change the world to be better, by living our lives to be our best!

Change your attitude to have a positive outlook on life. Being grateful for all you have and sending out gratitude and love to others.

You can inspire others to live their best life by living your best life.

Everyone has struggles, everyone has their own obstacles that they must face so they can learn and grow. We can encourage everyone to be successful by being brave in our own lives.

Lifes lessons don't have to be difficult if you are grateful for the lesson and can share your experience with others that they can learn from it to.

Live in the energy of the life you desire. The universe brings you more of what you want in your life when you live in that energy.

What do you want to happen in your life right now? What do you want to achieve today? Live in that desire as its already happened and watch it become your reality.

Blessings always!
I love you all,
Maile

Inspire!

Martin Luther King Jr Day! He would have been 84 years old today. He left us to soon, but made a tremendous impact with his life!

May we all leave our own legacy by living our lives to inspire future generations to acts of their own greatness!

Many blessings,

Living Pono

My favorite stretch to walk has always been Kailua Beach. It has changed so much since I was a little girl growing up in Kailua. The sand is sadly disapearing with the effects of erosion, but still a great stretch of beach.

I admit, in my busy day to day life, I haven't visited the beach in a while, but a friend told me of the micro-plastic debris that had overtaken the pretty stretches of white sand.

The next day we went to try and clean it up. It was difficult to sift the wet sand and micro-plastic particles. In just over an hour, we had filled a large garbage bag, and had to call it quits for the day, as the weight of hauling the heavy load to the nearest public trash can was a good walk away.

We made a dent in the small section we worked in, but sadly there is still so much more. Hoping bigger community efforts will be made to bring attention to this problem and volunteers show up.

Kailua has always been a favorite beach for many locals and visitors. If you have the time, our beach needs a little aloha ;)

For our efforts, our day was blessed with a magnificent rainbow. A beautiful gift that still makes me smile now. Sending sunshine and a rainbow to you. Hawaii is so special, and we are so lucky to call this island paradise home, let's all do what we can to keep it beautiful for the future generations to enjoy.

Mahalo,
Maile
