Lucky Dog

I dragged myself up from my warm cozy bed at 5:30am this morning. It was raining and, for me, freezing!

Anyway, after I'm dressed and ready, about thirty minutes later, I go to wake up my dog for a quick walk outside. She peeks her head up from her warm cozy spot on the bed and just stares at me like I'm crazy.

I go downstairs and I finally hear her get up. I wait at the bottom step for her, she looks at me from the top of the stairs, does a long cat stretch, and wanders back to the room.

I am now in a hurry to leave, I go to check on her and ask her to go for a walk, yes, I did ask. She was curled up in a tiny ball at my son's feet. She was now refusing to make eye contact and just ignored me. Grrrrt Dogs! I left instructions for my boys to throw her outside for a while after they got ready.

When I got home, of course the rain had stopped and now she wanted to go out. Mud awaits my floors as I watch her pounce through dead grass spots of just solid mud tracks. Ugh! Dogs! Why do we love them?! Oh yeah, they can be kind of cute sometimes ;-)

Happy Wednesday!

Love and Aloha,
Maile and Ginger Roger's (my "diva" dog)

Puppy Love

Did you pet your dog today?
Some days are harder than others, and whenever I'm stressed, no one makes me smile faster than my dog.

Hugs are great, but unconditional love from your pets, it's pure magic.

I truly believe animals heal our spirits. If I could have my own zoo of pets, I would. Maybe someday, until then, I'm happy enough with just one.

Happy Wishes for your Wonderful Wednesday!
Love Always,
Maile

Life with kids and a dog...

Spoiled kids...
Just because it was Boys Day, my kids expected gifts. It's my fault, I have been spoiling them with too many gifts for each little holiday and of course birthday's and Christmas.

They are older now and I thought I would be a little more practical. Slippers!

Ever since we adopted our dog Ginger, we have been losing slippers almost monthly. Grrrrr!!!

She will chew up anything. Yesterday I scolded her for taking the swim fin and biting into it. Ugh!

Besides the dog, my boys don't even want to wear slippers or shoes most of the time, and often track in dirt into our house. The dog already leaves muddy paw prints all over my floors, I don't need the boys adding to it.

This is why I no longer have carpet. My other house had white carpet, believe me, I have learned my lesson. Kids and dogs plus white carpet don't mix!

House slippers are a funny thought for our family, but I am desperate for cleaner floors. I gave everyone a pair and we will see how long it lasts.

Honestly if they just wear something on their feet and are better about wiping their dogs paws, they would mop the floor a lot less.

Someday they will learn. Until then, I'm just hoping the dog doesn't eat these new slippers.

The joys of family with a dog. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
Love Always,
Maile
