Me ke aloha pumehana, maile

A day to recharge my spirit. Morning walk on the beach, quick swim in the beautiful ocean. All before breakfast.

I always take one day of the week just for me. If I don't, let's just say the crazy girl who feels under appreciated and maybe depressed sneaks out and I may lose all self control around chocolate ;) lol

Rest, recharge, restore your balance. Your health depends on your peace of mind, your body depends on your will power. So many things you need to do to be the best you, simply start with a moment of peace for yourself.

You have my permission. Please take it and run with it.

Love always,
Maile

Faith

"He ko'e ka pule a kahuna, he moe no a ʻoni mai." The prayer of a kahuna is like a worm; it may lie dormant but it will wriggle along.

Though the prayer of a kahuna may not take effect at once, it will in time.

Your dreams are manifesting now! Believe that you are on the right path and trust that everything you wished for is just around the corner!

Many blessings always!

Memories..

5,597 photos and videos on my iphone. Transferring to my computer, over two hours so far. Remembering almost 6000 worthy photographic moments, what am I thinking, "mostly what is that a photo of?" lol.

We are so blessed to live such a beautiful life with so many amazing people. I don't always get to capture the moments, but I sure enjoyed them all.

Wishing you many happy wonderful surprising moments in your future.

Maile

Weekend Giggles...

Musical Bathrooms. We have 3 bathrooms in our house:

The master bathroom -which in my houseful of boys recognize as mom's bathroom.

The boys bathroom, which only the boys are brave enough to use. I have cleaned it, showed the boys how to clean it, and I still would not want to use it!

The guest bathroom, the one that is kept the cleanest as guest may visit unexpectedly and is why it is fought over by everyone in the house!

It really messes everyone up when there are four household members, three bathrooms, and when boys use the other two bathrooms and not theres...Ugh! Grrr! Chaos!

And we are now dangerously low on toilet paper. The drama of my world! At least its funny.

I'm grateful for my crazy family. Even if they dare use my bathroom, the toilet seat better be down! Or else! Thats a whole other story ;)

Happy weekend everyone! Have fun, and laugh everyday!

Aloha,
Maile

You Can Change the World!

Let's all make the world a better place today! We can all change the world to be better, by living our lives to be our best!

Change your attitude to have a positive outlook on life. Being grateful for all you have and sending out gratitude and love to others.

You can inspire others to live their best life by living your best life.

Everyone has struggles, everyone has their own obstacles that they must face so they can learn and grow. We can encourage everyone to be successful by being brave in our own lives.

Lifes lessons don't have to be difficult if you are grateful for the lesson and can share your experience with others that they can learn from it to.

Live in the energy of the life you desire. The universe brings you more of what you want in your life when you live in that energy.

What do you want to happen in your life right now? What do you want to achieve today? Live in that desire as its already happened and watch it become your reality.

Blessings always!
I love you all,
Maile

Live your dreams!

The real secret to having everything you want in life, is believing it is already yours.

I have been teaching this to my children and have opened their eyes to the power of manifesting their dreams into reality. Children learn so easily, we must teach them this gift so they can live their most amazing life.

One example: my older son wanted a skateboard, I said no. I wasn't convinced he needed a new one when there were two in the garage he never played with. He didn't give up and was insistant he was going to get a new custom skateboard, and possibly two or three of them.

A day came and we were out shopping for shoes and this store also built custom skateboards. They were also on sale and he was in the right place at the right time and in an hour he had the skateboard he wished for. It took about a month for him to manifest this reality, but I pointed out, that nothing is coincidence. If you want something, don't doubt that you will have it.

At this time he has two new skateboards and is wishing for his third and fourth skateboards. It's taking longer to manifest as he keeps changing what he wants. So he is learning that when you stay focused, it happens faster.

I might share more later, but my boys have successfully manifested many things that I didn't agree upon getting them, but somehow, their persistent minds made it happen. It doesn't matter what other people think, only your own thoughts matter in your own life.

They remind me how easy manifesting your desires can be. My world reflects my goals and dreams more and more everyday. As long as I have faith and keep my focus, I have already succeeded!

May all your wishes come true.

Aloha,
Maile

Seriously!

Alright it's Wednesday, we are halfway through the week and my children are wishing it was the weekend again! I was so happy to come home last night from hula and see they had the sink cleaned and the dishwasher going. My boys were already in bed for school and the dog, having heard that I was home insisted on attention and a dog walk. While I waited for the dog, I refilled my water and noticed this empty container in the fridge. Why do they do this? When my brother and I were kids, we knew if you emptied a container in the fridge, you had to wash the container. My mother would not have allowed it to sit in the sink.

My children, however, do pile dishes in the sink. And although, I have asked them to load their dishes into the dishwasher as they make them dirty, it wouldn't look overwhelming when I ask them to load the dishwasher at night. I think they prefer it to be a chore that they can't stand to do. I remember standing at the sink for what seemed like forever, washing the dishes at night when I was a kid. It was just one of my chores. I wish it had been as easy, as loading it into the dishwasher, back then.

So four teeny tiny grapes, left in an almost "technically not empty" container, warranted it's continued presence in the fridge, taking up valuable space. Ugh! I can't be completely irritated, because they did everything else. I'm so tired of nagging and repeating myself. The life of a mom, this is when we start to nag, it's because of children! I can ask myself over and over again, why I wanted to have kids, but then, I reflect on all our family moments and how amazing it is to watch them grow and develop into their own individual people. I am blessed to have them, and I love them so much, even if they leave the "mostly" empty containers in the fridge. Of course, I will nag them about this, it's in my job description…MOM.

Happy Wednesday Everyone.

Aloha,
Maile

Wishes granted!

I know better!
I know better!
I know better!
I do know better!

We have all seen this inspirational quote a million times, and like any self evolving spiritual growth spurt it finally hit me-Again! Almost sent me in fits of laughter as I experienced miracle moment after miracle moment.

So simple, truly, your energy that you put out is what will come back to you. Just like an echo, litterally. If I call out happy, happy will find me. If I say opportunity, opportunity finds me. If I say fun, well you get it by now, fun finds me.

So for no reason at all, I put myself through some grumpy, grouchy, not so pleasant energetic emotional states, (and my weird recurring thoughts about shades of gray ocean). I got my simple black and white answer, be the energy that you want to attract and it will find you.

I can tell you to try it, but many of you won't. Just be prepared, one day you will wake up like I did and just laugh at how easy it all could have been. For those of you adventurous spirits, I would start with fun ;)

Happy successful wishes always,
Maile

-this time I will mention, if you are looking for that opportunity and maybe some help, send me an email at maile@hawaiilegacybuilders.com.
I'm always happy to help if I can. Aloha.

Warm wishes for your 3 day Weekend!

Clear starry night skies mean cold weather. Freezing cold weather dropping into the low 60's! Alright, cold is relative to where you are living, but for me, acclimated to warm Hawaiian tropical weather, its layers of clothes and fluffy feather filled comforters.

I do love it when I'm warm under all my blankets, but the thought of having to get out of my bed, is dreadful. The hard wood floors are chilled and my thoughs of warm fuzzy house slippers near the bed are an afterthought that is too late.

The weekend freedom allowed me to wake up with the sun and let it warm my bedroom and start my day on my own time. That is how I want to wake up everyday, if only my kids could get themselves up and make their own breakfast, then get themselves to school on their own, ahhhh I may still be dreaming.

Enjoy the long weekend! It's finally warm enough to get out of bed.

Aloha,
Maile

Happy Aloha Friday and 4 day weekend ;)

My kids have been saying its a four day weekend all week! I was so excited that I thought it started today (Friday), which they told me it did, but they really meant after school today.

So not quite four day weekend. Funny, I remember counting every precious hour of the weekend, wait I still do ;)

Happy Aloha Friday and almost 4 day weekend!

Sleepless thoughts...

What happened to the color? I have no idea why, but as I was driving to and from Waipahu today from Kailua, everything seemed black and white. The ocean seemed so dark and gray.

I kept checking my sunglasses to see if that was it, but it wasn't. The sky was bright, but very cloudy. It wasn't rainy and just felt so strange. I was left feeling very strange seeing Kaneohe Bay the strangest shades of gray to purple.

Blue was missing from the sky and ocean and I thought for sure when I drove into Kailua I would see that beautiful strip of blue Kailua Bay, but again, the weird purplish gray color.

Thinking about it now has got me so unraveled that I can't sleep right now. I should be fast asleep, but am unfortunately awake still, even after an exhausting day.

Sometimes rambling about things helps me to process, and I can't help but feel some strange connection to the color loss. Is my world black and white and what does that even mean?

There is some philosophical question in there, and as I sleep (hopefully very soon) and dream, I know answers will come.

Happiest wishes to a beautiful Aloha Friday!

Mahalo always,
Maile

Supermom

Yesterday morning started off in disaster when my son's smoothie spilled all over the kitchen. After that moment everything I touched kept slipping from my hands and I was just a bit to clumsy to be around sharp objects, like a blender.

Like a supermom, I pulled it together, got everything cleaned up, blended a new smoothie for my son and they happily left for a fun filled day of learning (well, I like to think that it was fun for them).

In the quiet moments before my own day's activities started, I took a time out and recentered myself. It was only the morning and I had a whole day of opportunity to make this week great!

I'm still flying with my cape, and I'm not taking it off. Smile its only Wednesday and your new day to make it better than yesterday. Great news, no spills this morning :) its already a better day for me. Life doesn't have to be complicated, just being grateful for the little things, they can add up to big things in no time.

Aloha,
Maile

Love for our oceans and shores

It only took a few weeks until I found the time in my schedule to enjoy my morning walk at the beach instead of my treadmill. Last Friday was one of our recently rare days of sunshine for the windward side as its been our normal winter rainy weather.

I was so happy to be able to watch the sun rise higher over the water with every step. A few moments of peace in my day just for me. It is always wonderful to feel the sand under my feet and the splash of the ocean on my legs as I walked towards the sun, my starting point was Kalama beach and I walked toward Kailua beach.

Unfortunately the sand was still littered with plastic from the garbage trail. It was only a few weeks ago when Diane Ako and I went out to try and make a difference and clean as much as we could. Her efforts with press releases to the media and awareness to the situation may have brought light to the issue, but still more has to be done.

On my return back, I hand carried a water bottle I found on the sand until I could dispose of it at the trash can at the Kalama beach park entrance.

As I was walking back though, I had an idea, what if there were sifters or clean up bags easily accessible at the parks and a sign to let people feel free to help with clean up efforts. Seriously who would take that home? Since there were businesses that offered items to help with clean up, maybe they could get permission to leave some of these tools there, somewhere near the trash cans.

I wasn't expecting to see any debris on the sand on this trip and hadn't planned to do clean up, but if I had the time and there were available tools to make it easier, I just might have.

Hoping to bring more awareness and maybe more help towards future clean up efforts. If everyone who went to the beach just picked up a little something here and there, I'm sure it wouldn't take long until we finally got it all removed permanently from our beautiful coastlines and never have to worry about it in our oceans.

Please check out Diane's blog, she has great links to organizations and more info on clean up if you are interested. If you can't make it to the beach, you can still help. All it takes is one Facebook post, a tweet, or sending a message or making a call. We don't always have the time to volunteer, but we all have a voice and we all can show in our own way our concern. Sometimes just being a messenger to get the word out to those that have the time and resources to help, can make a tremendous difference.

Sweet Dreams ;)

I Hope your weekend was amazing! As its almost bedtime, because its a school night, and everyone needs to get to bed early. I'm not complaining, I'm actually more excited than everyone in my family to get to bed early, Beauty sleep, I love every hour or minute I can get!

Another fun weekend with my family. I can't help but reflect on all the smiles and laughs I shared with them this weekend. My friends who I bruefly got to catch up with, every precious moment I am grateful!

Sending out lots if love and happy wishes for a wonderful week ahead!

Sweet dreams,
Maile

P.S. I do mean sweet :) mom made her yummy fruit tart again from scratch and dad grilled up ribs with the best bbq sauce! OMG! I'm going to be up early for my run in the morning! Night.

No sleeping until Sunday!

I am finally calling it the end of my day! I was dreaming of an easy Saturday, but having to get my boys up early for THEIR dentist appointment, make their breakfast, nag them to brush their teeth before we leave, beg them to wear something clean smelling and not wrinkled, and please just look nice and not like you woke up 10 minutes ago. Sigh!

A few minutes later we were cruising over the Pali, at least the drive was wonderful. It relaxes me when I can just zone out and drive. I love when there are barely any cars on the road and I have miles of black asphalt all to myself. Alright, I admit it, sometimes I don't want to share ;) ha ha.

Great news at the dentist, No Cavities! I am so grateful! Since we were so close to Ala Moana Shopping Center, I thought I could just stop bye and do a quick exchange. Everything was going miraculously well. I found nice shady parking immediately, we walked straight to the store and made my exchange, we were done in 10 minutes.

Then it started, those voices, "I'm hungry." I somehow didn't escape the mall fast enough and now my boys had me trapped with their cute faces guilting me with the news of perfect dental exams and apparently following all my instructions this morning, even though it was for their benefit. They had me trapped and I fell for it. So I bought us all a nice lunch.

On our way back to the car, which was now on the opposite side of Ala Moana shopping center, we just so happened to walk past a store my older son liked and before I knew it, they had guided me right to it, and even talked me into buying them a couple things.

My total for the day...
Dentist co-pay $44.50
Lunch $25.00
Their shopping for things they apparently needed for school, at least that was part of the story, anyway $38.00

Here it comes, tissue ready...a day with my boys, yummy lunch, shopping, laughing, talking, and hanging out at the mall PRICELESS - of course!

Back at home...An hour of sort of rest, then I was out the door again. This time it was just me. Invitation to a friends event in Waikiki. Thank goodness there are lots of leftovers for the family in the fridge. Now its late and I'm home and so happy to finally crawl back into my bed that I left a little too early this morning.

I think I would really like to just lock my door, turn off my phone and any other electronic device that might even dare to wake me and sleep until Monday.

Relaxing wishes for as many weekend hours as you have left to enjoy! Sweet dreams.

Aloha,
Maile

Live Your Journey!

Aloha Friday! We all love it, because it really means goodbye to the hard week and welcome to the rewards of the weekend.

I'm looking forward to seeing my baby, who really isn't so little anymore, but a big 6th grader. My son has been away at camp with his classmates for an adventure filled three days of non-stop fun. Well hopefully it was more fun than he could dream of. I can't wait to hear all about it and see all the amazing photos he took.

My older son is not looking forward to his little brother's return as eagerly as the rest of us. He has been enjoying life as the only child, and basking in all the unnecessary attention he has been able to ascertain. Although his dreams of being spoiled like a little prince and wined and dined at a few Oahu restaurants for a couple nights wasn't completely out of the question, it just wasn't as doable on a week night/school night/work day. Oh we'll, maybe next time.

I remember my first overnight adventures away from home. Sleepovers at friends houses, school field trips to camp as well (the same camp), and mainland school excursions. The life lessons of finding your independence and realizing how capable you are to survive away from the security of home (as you knew it) was definitely a growing experience. Sometimes you can't learn everything in a classroom or from your parents, or even peers, sometimes you have to just risk the journey and see where it leads.

A well lived life is what we all want. Take chances, make mistakes, and enjoy your journey! Only you can make the decisions for you, it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, and you only start to realize that when you decide to live your own life on your own terms!

Happy trails and many blessings always!

Aloha,
Maile

Angel Message Poem

Messages come to us for different reasons. Sometimes they are for us, and sometimes we are the messengers entrusted to send the message out to the world. I can't add much more to these beautiful words and hope you find answers and blessings always.

What if an angel took hold of your hand
And whispered sweet, "I understand"
Embraced you close and stroked your brow
And murmured soft, "I've got you now."

What if this angel soothed your soul,
Nursed your wounds and scars of old
Polished your heartstrings until they glistened
And gentle said, "Tell me all, I'll listen."

Would you drop your walls, set loose your tears
Could you finally face your darkest fears?
Would you sink into surrender fair
And allow yourself some comfort there?
Can you still the chatter, quell the din,
Seek that silent spot that dwells within?

What if an angel said, "I'll give you the choice --
You can speak your truth now, in your quivering voice,
There's no need anymore upon others to lean
You can make direct connection without a go-between."

With the question echoed below, above
How fast, how tall will you stand for Love?
How soon are you able to shed, to peel
To say less I think, and more I feel?
Surrounded by angels, would you dare to swoon
To dance, to sing, by the light of the moon?

What if the angel vowed to stay near
And promised fast, "We are always here"
And shared with you the words you yearned for
The knowings that your heart returned for --

What if an angel, divinely wrought,
Reminded you of everything you once were taught
And what if, as the veil was lifted,
You remembered you are worthy and abundantly gifted.

If every rose in the garden suddenly flowered
Would that presence alone leave you touched and empowered?
What if the angel was the person beside you -
Could you trust enough for your own heart to guide you?
Angels are walking among us wearing quite human faces
Be aware! You will find them in the most unlikely places.

And miracle of miracles, I swear to you this is true:
The most glorious angel you ever meet may turn out to be YOU.

Authur-Rachel Snyde

Each time I read this, I found different meaning for my own life. In this new year, make each moment count, time is precious and we can never get those moments back. Its time to live our very best life now.

I am grateful for all that I have :)

I have been cleaning and cleaning and I know I'm making my family crazy, but the new year energy is coursing right through my very being and I absolutely can't stop myself!

In the end, everything will be clean and and I will be calm and definitely ready to tackle all the opportunities of the new year!

As I have gone through piles of photos and so many other things, I am reminded of so many wonderful memories and reflect on the wonderful life and amazing people in my life. I am truly blessed just to know you all and although time flies and we all get caught up in our day to day lives, we will reconnect again soon.

There is always a perfect time and place for everything. When that moment arrives we will find each other again. Many blessings until then.

Math is never funny.

As its only Tuesday and dreams of the weekend linger and hopes of the next weekend seem a little far out out of reach, I thought I needed to send a smile out today.

Although, a side note, Math is never funny, especially now that I realize I can no longer understand algebra. I stopped using it after college. Just because I didn't need to use it in my profession, I'm sure there was some other math genius with a fancy title who did. So to my kids, you still need to learn it. But I don't have to ever again! Yeah!!!! Ok that makes me smile :)

Happy Tuesday!

Use Your Wings!

Monday morning is the first day of a week of great opportunities! Wishing you every success in all you do! Use your wings!

Tacos, kids, and early bedtime!

What could be better than Family Sunday? It started out as an afterthought of Saturday nights family bbq, no one wanted to stop playing or talking the night away. As it got later and later we decided we would definitely need to continue the weekend fun the next night, and maybe start just a little earlier.

Taco night is always great. Make it yourself and a few ingredients feeds a big hungry family.

I love how our family has grown and seeing my boys and their cousins play all night reminds me so much of my keiki days in the neighborhood with my friends. Staying out late playing under the stars until we had to finally go home, dragging our feet so slowly, when just a few moments before we were racing around so fast.

Playing stops when we tell them, "Its a school night, and we all have to go to bed early." Its funny to hear the kids argue, "but its still early!"

Grateful for the sunshine we had today and the exhausting playtime, I know we will all sleep good tonight, ready for the opportunities that await us all tomorrow. Happy wishes for your Monday!

Sweet dreams.

Aloha,
Maile

Love the journey!

Weekends with children are sleep in a little later, laundry and chores, visit with loved ones, and whatever time left you can squeeze in fun with the family days. When the weekend is over, the routine of Monday through Friday limit any extra curricular activities to just a few hours here and there.

Life is such a roller coaster sometimes, and as we ease into the new year, I am really appreciating all the crazy hours and all the lazy hours.

Enjoying the ride is all we can ever hope for! Although, I'm not really a good passenger, more the crazy driver type ;) lol. Happy weekend!

No TV in the bedroom!

You can call it a New Years' Resolution but I will say its a wish manifested thanks to the power of feng shui.

Loving the new energy in the house. There is still more to do, but the fact that my boys are feeling the positive energy has caused a stir in each of them.

Yesterday they removed the televisions from their bedrooms, and the time spent on electronic devices is being lessened.

I love seeing this change in them! I love the feeling of more together time with my boys and watching them take charge of their own life.

Sending positive energy to you!

Manifest your dreams now!

Thursday Energy is so exciting to me! It may be the culmination of efforts accomplished in the earlier week days that finally see the light of fruition.

Manifest your dreams now! Take advantage of every opportunity, because you just never know what you may see manifest in your own life in just a few months, weeks, or maybe days!

Happiest wishes for your Thursday!

Everything is spinning!

January 2, 2013
My new alarm clock is my daily horoscope alert on my phone. It makes the tiniest alert bleep at 8am! Yes, 8am not 6:30am like I usually have to wake up. I think I enjoy school break more than my boys. I am not really an early morning person, but I do try.

This morning I woke up to a spinning room. Vertigo! Its been a rare occurrence lately, and I have no idea what causes it. It can be linked to high blood pressure and stress but I've been in vacation mode lately and my blood pressure is excellent!

I think shifting my bed from North to South to an East to West direction, has messed up my equilibrium a bit. I did sleep really good tho and didn't really want to get out of bed. The spinning walls help keep me still for at least another hour until I absolutely couldn't take it anymore.

So why did I shift my bed? Its a feng shui thing. Getting ready for the year of the snake energy and I really want the dragon year to end so nicely!

Life is never perfect and you can only hope and do your best. As long as you keep getting up and moving forward, you are always a step closer to wherever you really want to be.

Many blessings for an amazing year!

Love,
Maile
