Kailua Beach Invaded!

My dear friend Diane Ako has done an amazing job bringing more light to what may be an ongoing problem on Hawaii shorelines. Micro-plastic debris will continually wash up on all shores if we don't take effort to finally get rid of it.

The notorious garbage patch needs to be cleaned, but I understand that would cost a lot of money and time and resources. Sadly we wait until it washes up on the sand and thats when we can clean it up before its washes back out to sea.

We don't know what the true impact is on the ecosystem and the marine life, but we all know it can't be good. Let's all be on the lookout for debris that shouldn't be in our oceans affecting our delicate marine life. If we all do a little, it won't be a lot of work. Whatever you can do will make an impact! Please join us and help this beautiful planet we have been entrusted to care for. Malama pono.

Mahalo,
Maile
